Fattoria di Rentica is a charming XVIth century hunting lodge perched on the green hills that surround Lake Bolsena. Set in a large agricultural estate with olive groves, orchards and vineyards. The lodge has an absolutely stunning view: the lush countryside and the clear, blue waters of the biggest volcanic lake in Europe with its two beautiful islands, Martana and Bisentina and, in the evening, the distant twinkling lights of the villages all around the lake. The Fattoria is just a stone's throw from the beautiful town of Orvieto and its wine-growing surroundings, from several lovely medioeval villages and famous Renaissance villa's and gardens. An ideal spot for touring and discovering the hidden treasures of this fascinating part of Italy. Our 10 rooms, tastefully decorated and comfortably furnished, all have ensuite bathrooms - two of them with tubs - refrigerated drinks cabinet, internet access, flat-screen satellite tv and marvellous views. Guests can enjoy our full-sized 20 m. pool, set on a slight rise overlooking the lake, or take long, relaxed walks among the centuries-old olive groves and vineyards. Conveniently placed on the borders of Umbria, Tuscany and Lazio, Fattoria di Rentica is a twenty minute drive from Orvieto with its amazing cathedral, elegant restaurants and delicious wine, half an hour from the papal residence Viterbo with its health spas and medieval architecture, and within easy reach of Rome. But why not head north into Tuscany, along the historic Cassia road, on what is reputed to be one of the most beautiful drives in Italy, and enter the “Terra di Siena” area, where you can visit the well-known villages of Pienza, Montepulciano, or explore the fascinating Val d'Orcia Valley. Crossing what was once the fief of the powerful Renaissance Duchy of Castro, you will find yourself in the Maremma, where you can either choose to spend the day at the seaside, in fashionable resorts like Capalbio and the Argentario, or to discover the several archaelogical Etruscans sites of the area such as Tarquinia and Tuscania. Art lovers, finally, simply can't miss the magnificent Renaissance villa's and gardens nearby like Villa Lante in Bagnaia, Palazzo Farnese in Caprarola , Il Parco dei Mostri in Bomarzo, or the wonderful Bisentina island on Lake Bolsena.
