The agrituorism "Le Due Torri" is situated between Spello and Assisi within a 100 hectare farm in the countryside. The farm used to feed 250 beef cattle of the elegant and highly prized white Chianina breed. The new planted vineyard produces white and black wine grapes typical of Umbria (Grechetto, Merlot and Sangiovese), in accordance with organic and biodynamic criteria. Cereals, vegetables, sunflowers and sugar beets are also grown, together with the famous D.O.P. (Protected Origin Denomination) black truffles and extra virgin olive-oil. Of the six stone farmhouses.
Two are today used for agricultural tourism: Torre Quadrano is situated at the foot of the austere medieval tower of Quadrano (which surveyed and defended the borders of the town of Spello). It has four rooms with private bathrooms, one double-room apartment with kitchen, a common room with television and table-tennis, a warm and spacious dining room, a large garden with a childrenís playground and a pond, pool, barbecue and a shaded porch.
Ponte Pazienza, the smaller house, and the first inaugurated for agritourism, is found two kilometres from Torre Quadrano and has five rooms with private bathrooms, three double-room and two one-room apartments, a common room with a kitchen and a fireplace, an ample garden with barbeque, swimming pool, a playground for children, and a shaded porch.
The farm offers overnight stays and breakfast or half pension to all of its guests lodged in either of the two houses, exclusive use of the pool, country touring bicycles and mountain bikes, bocce field, ping pong and table football. The agritouristic restaurant, exclusively for guests of the farm, enables visitors to sample products of the farm, or typical products of the region, prepared according to the best traditions of Umbrian cuisine. In the period from May to October (or upon request, during other months), the farm offers special weeklong stays, guests are given the opportunity to witness daily life on the farm and become familiar with the animals raised.
